Explorer at heart, always seeking adventure.
I grew up on Vancouver Island, which became the catalyst for my lust for adventure. My backyard is quite vast with plenty of beauty ready to be photographed, so growing up I wanted to experience more of it but didn't have the wheels to get me where I wanted to go. When I turned 16, I was looking for an economical way to get around which landed me on a 50cc scooter. Little did I know this would be the beginning of my addiction to motorcycles. Later on in high school, I landed on a 2009 Klx250s, I kept just commuting on it and explored the occasional back road just outside of town. When I moved to Vancouver in 2016 I started to meet with a few people online and attended my first ADV event and that's really when I fell in love. In 2018 I did my first motorcycle tour. 6000+km in 21 days around Washington, Oregon, and even into Nevada, California, and then back up. This trip added fuel to the fire of my love for adv, dual-sport, and traveling. I've put 50,000km+ on that klx since, and she's still being ridden hard and toured. In 2020 I picked up a 2020 Ktm 790 Adventure R, with the intention of going out adventuring, and touring. I wanted to do my planned Alaska trip that year but we all know what happened and we're still living it, so I've just stuck close to home. To me, motorcycles are a tool to get me to these far and challenging places to get to, just to capture them with my camera, and then ride back home.
since 2020 I've dived deep into bettering myself as an avid offroad rider, honing the craft of riding single track whether it be on the 250 or 790. When I'm not riding my bike, I have a bunch of other hobbies that I've been working on as well; Ski touring the backcountry, mountain biking, mountaineering, hiking, camping, overlanding, fishing, and of course photography ties in with all of those. Photography has been in my life for the better part of a decade, and I am using it as a craft/art form to express myself and capture memories so I can look back 30 years from now and smile. I really appreciate all the people photography has introduced me to, and I hope they appreciate my work and the moments I capture.
